Paula moved to Fife in 2010 and worked temporarily in a community post where she assisted patient’s rehabilitation and discharge from hospital. She worked in a private clinic for 5 years, gaining a wealth of experience with assessment and treatment of acute and chronic conditions, sports rehabilitation and hydrotherapy.
At present Paula is an Advanced Physiotherapist in NHS Fife. She is an injection therapist and qualified to use diagnostic ultrasound to assess for inflammation.

Paula believes in holistic and evidence based practice empowering patients to achieve their goals. She assesses the whole person and uses hands on treatment to achieve optimal results.

Paula Dowie is HCPC registered and a member of the CSP. She qualified with a First Class BSc(Hons) in Physiotherapy in 1999.

Paula has over 23 years of clinical experience in a variety of areas. She started working in Greater Glasgow and Clyde as a rotational physiotherapist. Rotations included musculoskeletal, orthopaedics, rehabilitation, plastics, hand trauma and Rheumatology. Paula gained a Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine for the upper, lower and spinal regions and a Diploma in Injection therapy. She has been injecting a wide range of intra-articular and soft tissue lesions for over 14 years. She also works part time as an Advanced Physiotherapist in NHS Fife.

She is a qualified acupuncturist, with 19 years experience, has additional training in myofascial release using dry needling and has completed McKenzie training for the assessment and treatment of the neck and back.
